Package Travel Directive 2018

The Package Travel Directive 2018 comes into effect on Sunday 1st July, widening the definition of a package holiday. Flight Plus no longer exists and instead bookings fall into 3 categories;
1. Bookings made by a package organiser
2. Bookings made by an agent acting on behalf of a package organiser
3. "Linked Travel Arrangements"

Updates have been made to the VIA Voyager System to align with this directive including:
* New ATOL certificates to comply with CAA requirements.
* ATOL receipts state which elements of a booking are covered by ATOL to comply with CAA requirements.
* The ability to track which bookings are linked travel arrangements (LTA's).
* Updates to reporting for tracking of ATOL and LTA bookings.

GDPR: Procedure for "Subject Access Request"

GDPR states that “individuals have a right to access their personal data” (ICO Website). Businesses should have a procedure in place in the event of a client information request (aka subject access request). If a client makes a request, the information should be provided within one month and no charge should be made to the client.

The latest update to VIA Voyager enables you to smoothly provide information to the client in a professional manner in a couple of steps. In addition to the below there are a number of other pieces of information which you should provide the client with which are detailed on the ICO website and you can cover these in your privacy notice.
